Hi Friends! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day weekend! We traveled to our family reunion this weekend and had a fun time. Food and family…that’s what this weekend is all about! Love it! 🙂
We are back home today and usually on rainy days my daughter and I bake cookies. But…today she is over at a friends house, so I decided to blog about one of my favs instead!! These cookies are my dream cookie…no kidding…they are amazing! These are the cookies that I actually hide a few away(no judging)…just for myself!
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do…as always…Just Keep Cooking!
xo, Jacque
The cookie dough all mixed up…it is very easy to handle.
Now just roll into golf ball size balls and use a glass dipped in sugar to flatten cookies.
(I failed to get a picture of the flattened cookies…food blog fail~oops!)
Cookies cooling while I made the frosting.
Yummy sour cream frosting…definitely lick those beaters… 😉
Happiness in a bite…prepare to watch your family swoon…
You’re Welcome!!! 🙂
- 1/2 cup butter-softened
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2-1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup butter-softened
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2-3 Tbls milk *use to thin frosting to desired consistency
- sprinkles *optional
- Beat together in mixing bowl butter, oil, sugar and powdered sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix until incorporated. In another bowl whisk or sift flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar together. Add to mixing bowl with wet ingredients and mix until combined. Roll into golf ball size balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheets. Use a small glass dipped in sugar to press balls down to make flat cookies. (I use a small glass, which leaves an indention and a rim around the outside of cookie.) Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
- Beat butter and sour cream together for 1 minute. Add salt, vanilla, and powdered sugar and beat on low until sugar is incorporated. Mix on medium high for 2 minutes. Add in milk as needed until desired spreading consistency is reached. Frost cookies and decorate with sprinkles, if desired.
