Servings: Cookies
Instructions
- Beat together in mixing bowl butter, oil, sugar and powdered sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix until incorporated. In another bowl whisk or sift flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar together. Add to mixing bowl with wet ingredients and mix until combined. Roll into golf ball size balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheets. Use a small glass dipped in sugar to press balls down to make flat cookies. (I use a small glass, which leaves an indention and a rim around the outside of cookie.) Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
For Frosting:
- Beat butter and sour cream together for 1 minute. Add salt, vanilla, and powdered sugar and beat on low until sugar is incorporated. Mix on medium high for 2 minutes. Add in milk as needed until desired spreading consistency is reached. Frost cookies and decorate with sprinkles, if desired.
